Gucci’s world famous logo mark wasn’t created until 12 years after the was originally founded in 1921. Aldo Gucci, son of founder Guccio Gucci, joined the business around this time and stressed the importance of designing a logo for the family brand. By combining his father’s initials into a double-G design, Gucci’s logomark was created. The double-G logo was often accompanied by the brand name spelled out in order to avoid confusion about its meaning.
